Lorraine and Bennett Hammond: May 5th, 2PM

Lorraine and BennettNOTE: This concert was rescheduled from March 3rd.

Still River Concerts is delighted to welcome back Lorraine and Bennett Hammond for the second year in a row. This delightful duo perform old time and original tunes and songs with banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, celtic harp and guitar. These are master musicians who spend much of their time teaching others and it’s always a treat to hear them play a full show.

Their most recent recording, Lorraine’s The Opal Ring, tells stories of her childhood in rural Northwest Connecticut through her own songs and songs of other musicians from her small corner of New England.

For those who haven’t heard a master play the Appalachian Dulcimer (that’s the instrument she’s holding in the photo), Lorraine is one of the top players, and well worth checking out. Bennett is a guitar wizard and also invented his own banjo style. Together their shows are fun, educational and entertaining.

Show is at 2PM on May 5th, doors open at 1PM. Contact us for additional details.
